Allied Supply Co. is a full service wholesale distributor of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration, indoor air quality and industrial supplies and equipment. We have 5 stores throughout Ohio and serve the Ohio, Eastern Indiana, Southern Michigan and Northern Kentucky markets. We sell only to contractors and end-users who are in the business of repairing and maintaining HVACR and industrial equipment.

Background

Allied Supply Co. started in 1935 as the Allied Parts Company. The founder, John Homan, was employed at Frigidaire and saw the potential that was developing in the refrigeration cooling business.

In those early days the company was located at 68 Stratford Ave. and later located to 359 West Monument Ave. and ultimately located at our present address of 1100 East Monument Ave. This location is very historical since it was part of the Barney and Smith Car Works. They made wooden railroad cars and were dominant in their industry. At the time, our current buildings were used for finishing and upholstery of luxury passenger cars. These buildings were transformed into their current state by the hard work of our past management and we have been at our current site since 1959.

Throughout the years we have had branches in Hamilton, Springfield and Findlay all of which are now closed. Our current locations include Lima which opened in 1945, Mansfield which opened in 1978, Toledo which opened in 1985 and our newest, Cincinnati, which opened in 1992.

Our core offering has always been HVACR products, but recognizing the cyclical nature of our business early on John Homan choose to diversify into the television and electronic parts business in 1950. A year later radios, TV sets and paints were added to our offering. Over the years we distributed other products including furniture and appliances. In 1982 Gibson Appliances, our last diversified product line, was dropped from our offering leaving us with only HVACR and industrial products. Since then we have established ourselves as leaders in HVACR supplies and equipment, indoor air quality products and high end building control systems. Diversifying into these multiple markets has helped us greatly reduce the "peaks and valleys" of a weather related business.
